Toastmasters Podium | Spotlight on Meg Thomas

What brought you to Toastmasters?
I was finding myself increasingly responsible for hosting meetings, speaking in front of groups, engaging with clients, consultants and contractors for work and I really wanted to learn more about how to do that well. Initially, I joined in the 8 week course for Public Speaking (now known as Speechcraft). Throughout the course I appreciated the supportive atmosphere, opportunity to practice skills, receive feedback and learn from others. So now I’ve joined as a Toastmasters member.

What have you learned so far from Toastmasters?
Techniques to improve communications, and ways to increase my confidence. And also learnt that it’s fun because every week is different.

How would your friends describe you?
Enthusiastic, kind, and independent, amongst many other cheekier responses l can’t quite convey in writing.

Currently a mix of DIY, outdoors and connecting with others.

If you won the lottery what would you do?
Travel, community projects, help family and friends, something creative.
