Newcastle’s 5-week public speaking course to help you speak with confidence

Port Hunter Toastmasters is now taking enrolments for our next Speechcraft course, starting August 2025. Whether you are looking to overcome a fear of public speaking, sharpen your presentation skills, or build confidence in interviews and meetings, Speechcraft offers a practical and supportive pathway to real improvement.

About the Course

Speechcraft is a hands-on, small-group program designed to help you develop your speaking skills in a safe, encouraging environment. Over five weeks, you’ll take part in a series of structured activities designed to build your confidence and capability step by step.
Course Details

  • Small class size (maximum 12 participants)
  • Date: Saturday August 2- 30
  • Time: 9:00am to 11:30am
  • Location: Stag & Hunter Hotel, Mayfield
  • No prior experience required

Course Learning Outcomes

Each week focuses on developing key speaking and presentation skills:

  • Thinking and speaking on your feet
  • Organising your speech content
  • Managing nerves and anxiety
  • Using body language and vocal variety effectively
  • Giving and receiving constructive feedback

By the end of the course, you will complete multiple speeches, practise impromptu speaking and receive supportive evaluations throughout the program.
